GAMES, FUN, AND DIGITAL CREATIVITY – DISCOVER YOUR MULTIMEDIA SUMMER ADVENTURE!

Whether it’s programming, photography, or video editing – at the Multimedia Camp, you’ll have the chance to use modern media creatively while working hands-on on your own project. In one-week courses focused on programming and media production, you will learn how to use tools and techniques that work not only on computers but also on mobile devices. This will allow you to put your ideas into practice right away and bring your own digital projects to life.

Of course, the fun doesn’t stop there: a wide range of leisure activities such as sports, games, and exciting excursions to the outdoor pool or the adventure park with a flying fox ensure every day is full of excitement. You will create unforgettable memories while making new friends and enjoying a summer full of creativity, action, and shared adventures.

You can select your desired course from the following range of courses. Please note that you can only participate in one course.

 

Programming 1.0 (Beginner)

This beginner-friendly course introduces you to the exciting world of programming. Step by step, you will learn the basics, discover how computers “think,” and create your very first small project. Through simple programs and playful exercises, you will quickly experience the fun of building something on your own. By the end of the week, you will proudly present your own mini project – and gain a solid foundation to continue exploring the world of coding.

 

Programming 2.0 (Advanced)

Building on your existing programming knowledge, this course takes you from the basics to more advanced applications. Together with other advanced learners, you will develop your own projects, explore new concepts, and put your knowledge directly into practice. Whether it’s small games, apps, or creative tools – here you can show what you already know while learning plenty of new tricks and techniques. At the end of the week, you will present your project and take home lots of fresh ideas to continue your programming journey.

 

Multimedia with Mobile Devices (Beginner)

This course is all about creative photo and video projects – no complicated equipment needed. Using your own smartphone, you will learn how to shoot, edit, and transform images and videos into exciting projects. Whether short clips, longer films, or artistically designed photos – there are no limits to your creativity. You can work alone or in a team, and the best part: everything you learn here can be used right away in your daily life to make your photos and videos look even more professional and impressive.

 

Creative AI – Designing Media with Artificial Intelligence (Beginner)

In this fascinating course, you will learn how artificial intelligence works and how it’s transforming the world of media. You will discover how AI can help create images, texts, and videos, and how it’s used in modern apps and websites. On your own or in a team, you will create your own project – for example, a website with a chatbot, an app featuring an AI character, or a creative media project powered by smart tools. By the end of the week, you will be able to show how much creativity and technology come together in artificial intelligence.

At the ya! Erlebnisgästehaus Carinth in Mariapfarr, summer becomes an unforgettable adventure! Sports, action, and loads of fun make this house in Austria’s sunniest town the perfect starting point for exciting summer camps.

The spacious grounds feature a refreshing water fun slide for cooling off, a modern multi-purpose sports hall with an indoor climbing wall, a beach volleyball court, a trampoline area, and a large sun terrace for relaxing. In addition, there is the option of exploring the beautiful surroundings of the Lungau region on rental bikes and actively discovering nature.

A special highlight is the Outdoor Park Lungau, just a few minutes’ walk away: it offers a 140-meter-long Flying Fox zip line over an adventure pond, a bouldering rock, and an exciting climbing park – a real thrill for the brave

The Carinth guesthouse provides children and teenagers with plenty of space to play, have fun, and relax. At the same time, team spirit, shared nature experiences, and varied programs are at the heart of every stay – in any weather.

MULTIMEDIA WORKSHOPS
  • Choose one of the four course options:
    • Programming 1.0 (Beginners)

    • Programming 2.0 (Advanced)

    • Multimedia with your mobile device (Beginners)
    • Creative AI – Designing media with Artificial Intelligence (Beginners)

  • Each course includes 18 units of 45 minutes each.

  • Laptops are provided for the respective courses.

  • For participation in the course “Multimedia with your mobile device,” your own smartphone is required. young austria assumes no liability for any damage to personal phones or other personal devices.

LEISURE ACTIVITIES

  • Excursion to Outdoorparc Lungau

  • 1 trip to the outdoor pool per week included (weather dependent)

  • Extensive leisure activities such as sports tournaments, team-building games, house rally, forest games, creative workshops, and much more

arrival & departure information

You have the possibility to bring your child directly to the camp - so you can get an idea of the ya! Jugendhotel, the counselors and the surroundings.

Important information: On the day of arrival (Sunday) you can check in with your child between 15:00 - 18:00 - on the day of departure (Saturday) you have to pick up your child until 11:00.

If it is not possible for you to arrive or depart during these times, please contact our office in advance.

If you want to stay overnight near the camp on the day of arrival or departure, please contact the local tourist office.

You are welcome to book a trip with the camp bus from/to Salzburg every week.

 

There is a meeting point (Salzburg main station) where you can entrust your child to us. The bus departs at approximately 15:00. Exact information about the meeting point or times will be given to you 2 weeks befor the camp starts with the travel documents.

The hotels are located approx. 100 km from Salzburg main station; travel time by coach approx. 1h40min.

Since we offer accompanied train travel from / to Germany only every 2 weeks, we offer a pick-up service from the platform for 1-week stays at the main train station in Salzburg. Certain trains run through from Germany to Salzburg (without changing trains). If you trust your child to travel alone, we will be happy to pick them up directly at the train platform and accompany them to the shared transfer that will take the children to the camps. We do not charge any extra fee for the pick-up service - only the costs for the collective transfer from Salzburg to the camp have to be paid. The ticket for the train ride has to be organized independently. We will be happy to help you find the right connection.

The escort service from / to the train platform must be booked in advance! Please note that the collective transfer from Salzburg leaves at about 15:30, so the arrival should ideally be between 14:00 and 15:00. For return trips, the train should not leave before 12:00 and not after 13:00.

Should the train be significantly delayed, any costs for an individual transfer to the camp may be incurred.

How does the accompanied train journey work?

A ya! travel guide will meet you and your child at the departure station at the platform of the given train. He/she looks after the group, takes care of the children joining at a later station and hands over the children in Salzburg to the ya! team. From here, the children will travel on to the summer camps with the other participants in buses. You will receive detailed information on train times, train numbers, etc. with your travel documents.

Exact information about the boarding points and times will be given to you with the travel documents.

 

On the day of arrival, your child will be met in the arrivals hall by a ya! caregiver and will be taken care of from this point on. Games, craft materials and snacks are included! 

On the day of departure, your child will be taken to the airport and, depending on the departure time, accompanied to the check-in counter/passport control. Should there be a waiting time at the airport on departure, your child will of course be looked after by our team. 

Please note that the service at the ya! Erlebnisgästehaus ends after breakfast at the latest; the children will be taken to the airport together in the morning; during the waiting time at the airport, the children will of course be looked after. Additional childcare costs may apply for departures after 16:00. 

 

The ideal arrival and departure time for your child is between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm.
